Director We Love: Richard Ayoade.
Here we probably know him best as Maurice Moss the geek from The IT Crowd, the Britain comedy situation series where he plays a 32 years old I.T. guy who still lives with his mom & let her dresses him everyday to work. Glasses, shirt tuck down the trousers, hair swept aside, well.. you name it.
But not so many people know that he was actually named one of the coolest man in Britain last year, because of his directing skills. Yes, Richard Ayoade is the Director We Love!! His portfolio includes bands (that we also love) like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Super Furry Animals & Vampire Weekend. He won Best Video for The Last Shadow Puppets 'My Mistakes' and Best DVD for Arctic Monkeys At The Apollo, at the NME awards 2009. Click here to see his work on Warp, watch for his trademark one-shot video & old cars, hope you love him as much as we do, can't wait to see his movie project!! :D

LAST DAY OF THE WEEK
Hi!! We just took part in Jakarta Fashion Week 2009/2010 at the Pacific Place. Last night our video in collaboration with DEWI were being played at the fashion parade.
10 well known local fashion designers showed their talents yesterday, names like Oscar Lawalata, Sally Koeswanto & Barli Asmara are no longer strangers to our ears. And also getting a special award from DEWI was Priyo Octaviano & Sebastian Gunawan. We hope this event can make Indonesian fashion richer in so many ways.
We are very happy to have this opportunity, big thanks to Karin Wijaya from Majalah DEWI for everything, and we hope to see you again next year!! :D

OUT AND ABOUT
Last week we were out & about this town searching for all the exhibitions we can get, we manage to see 5 of them in a week!! First stopped is at Sigi Arts for "Sorry, No Canvas Today" which is Uji 'Hahan' Handoko's solo exhibition. There's not much to say about his artwork, except that it hits you in the face.
The day after we went to a couple of exhibitions. First the "Urbantopia" photo exhibition which included the work from some of this country's best photographers: Davy Linggar, Oscar Motuloh, Agan Harahap, Jim Allen Abel, Wimo Ambala Bayang & we are proud to say Sutrisno, who is is our friend from Kelas Pagi. The North Art Space Gallery in Pasar Seni Ancol is not that easy to find we must say, but as we get there the photo works of the photographers made it worth the while. Second that day we went to Plaza Indonesia Christiana Gouw's Art Space to see some of the works from 6 bright young artist from Yogyakarta, "A Tribute to Mooi Indie" is the theme that night.
A couple of days later we took a lunch break at Senayan City to see Jerry Aurum's "In my Room" photo exhibition. Here we can see so many Indonesian Celebrity being 'captured' in their own very intimate & private place which is their bed room. But it's only too bad we find the book/ catalog from the exhibition is kind of expensive.
Last but certainly not the least of all, we feast our eyes at Mella Jaarsma's "The Fitting Room" solo exhibition at Galeri Nasional. Can't say much about this so called fashion meets installation art exhibition except that you must see it by yourself. Not to mention that the catalog is only Rp. 20.000,-!! Hope this pictures we took can tell you more about the exhibitions, we are so very sorry about all the blur & unfocused photos from the camera phone. We promise next time we'll bring proper camera. ;)
