Sorry for the long delay update on the blog, as you know we were kind of busy during the Rorschach photo exhibition & workshop these past 2 weeks. But the responds are amazing!! We wanna say thank you so so so much to all the pretty ladies: Mbak Teges, Raisha & Elaine from Grand Indonesia team for all the support to making this happened. Mbak Lina, Mas Yudi and Wisnu from Prima Imaging team. Also Mbak Ferly & Friska from PAC team. And of course all of you who came & participate. They say a picture worth a thousand words, so please check these pictures out!! :)

Looking for God

The Inspiration:

The Little Fish*

He came to the Master in sannyasi robes. And he spoke sannyasi language:
“For years
I have been seeking God. I have sought Him everywhere that He is said to be: on
mountain peaks, the vastness of the desert, and the silence of the cloister and the
dwellings of the poor.”
“Have you found him?” the Master asked.
“No. I have not. Have you?”
What could the Master say? The evening sun was sending shafts of golden light into
the room. Hundreds of sparrows were twittering on a banyan tree. In the distance one
could hear the sound of highway traffic. A mosquito droned a warning that it was going
to strike...
And yet this man could sit there and say he had not found Him.
After a white he left, disappointed, to search elsewhere.

Salvation in Here

Couple of months ago we went to Niland, California for Harper's Bazaar Indonesia cover & fashion spread photo shoot. This one is from Salvation Mountain.

We got the chance to met Leonard Knight, the man behind the installation art, he made it (as you can see in the background) from adobe, straw & paint to convey the message that "God Loves Everyone." It was also featured in the movie "Into the Wild" directed by Sean Penn.

Once again, Frida Kahlo inspired Anton Ismael to do this work. Big thanks to Izabel Jahja from Harper's Bazaar Indonesia for making this happen.

The Hardest Thing

We are very sad to inform you that the Rorschach exhibition is postponed without further notice.
The exhibition will still be occur but in different time & place.
Please stay tune for the update.

What Do You See?

The Rorschach inkblot test or simply the Inkblot test) is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation, complex scientifically derived algorithms, or both. Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning.

Berangkat dari Rorschach inkblot test, Kami, siswa Kelas Pagi berusaha menginterpretasikan karya photography dari inkblot yang dibuat peserta pameran sesuai dengan imajinasi masing-masing individu.

Pameran ini akan berlangsung 24 MEI-6 JUNI 2010

Unity in Diversity

So here we were at the opening of Unity in Diversity Photo Exhibition. We spend 2 months in Pusat Kebudayaan Rusia, learning about Russian culture through their pictures & comparing it to ours. And then we spent a month for curating & preparing the exhibition.

The director & his wife opened the exhibition thanking their son Eugene and Anton Ismael, without their friendship there will be no cooperation between Kelas Pagi & Pusat Kebudayaan Rusia. And we wouldn't be able to celebrate the 60th anniversary establishment of the diplomatic relations between Indonesia & Russia together. Then we all feast on Madam's delicious homemade Russian food whilst listening to Komunitas Taman Suropati Chamber music. On Friday March 26th we had a visit from Kelas Pagi Yogyakarta & on the closing day we did "Bedah Foto" with Ray Bachtiar & Fendi Siregar.

We also would like to say big thanks to Nikolay, Mbak Dian, Mr. & Madam Director and everyone who came & went to see our exhibition. We simply couldn't ask for more. We thank each & every one of you, and we hope to see you again in the future. Once again, thanks so much everybody!!
